More books will accompany me in this winter vacation(is there anything called winter in this equatorial island?) I shall continue my reading journey and sample every moment whe I hold a book in my hand. After all, there would be a time when I am too old to read, and too old to recapture the energy in a young life.

Book Obssesion
Eat, drink, read and sleep have bagun to dominate my life since the holiday began. It is actually not like a holiday at all, nobody is in the complete holiday mood because of the Chinese O Level. As usual, after school closes, we have to go through many remedials together, so I take the chance of a few days after the closure day to read some wondrous books--when I am still free. At earlier stage I skimmed through books like "The Tulip Touch", "Sea Swept" and"No Turning Back" . Every book reveals an amazing story, and it is such a joyful period to dive into the book pages without restriction.
"The Tulip Touch" tells about a child girl, Natalie's growing experience with her eerie friend Tulip. Concentrating on the friendship between the two girls, the book reveals the dark side of a friendship, one building on sheer dependence, indiscriminate complaince and total obeyance. To certain degrees, Natalie became Tulip's slave, living against her own will to please Tulip's belligerent and obstinate nature. Reveling in Tulip's imaginary games, from harmless ones to real pracitices of evil, Natalie and her loving, generous family became the victims in this corrossive friendship. Meanwhile, the book also raises awareness concerning about family abuse, which aggravates the formation of child's bellicose character and intolerance to others, even directing to the true wickedness. Tulip, who became a hated and cursed witch at the end of the story, is a despicable person without compassion and sense of shameness, nut who can say that she is not the victim under family abuse and who takes the responsibility of her deviated growth? Who can declare that she does not deserve pitiness?
"Sea Swept" by Nora Roberts, the American best-selling writer living in Oakland, however, depicts a quite different lifestyle from what I have always been familiar with. Honestly speaking, I chose this book merely because of its nice cover design and the introduction tributing it as the 'International Best-selling Book'. To my consternation(without exaggeration), right from the prologue of the story, it shows me the modern side of American life which could raise the curiosity of evey child in his adolescent years. Love, life, and human desire entangle in the story as the plot ascends into its peak. The frank and vivid way of showing human desire makes it and enjoyment to read, no wonder it becomes the world best-selling book. However, I have no intention to read Nora Roberts' other books because her writing style is too flamboyant and scintilating, which do not suit my taste very much. Perhaps when I am a grown-up, I would have the interest to finish her "The Quinn Brothers Trilogy".
"No Turning Back" is a memoir by Joanne Lees, who has indeed caused a tempest in media world after her boyfriend, Peter was murdered in Australia Outback. The story is a thought-provoking one, empowering me the strength to face various impacts in life. As it puts, nothing is more terrifying than fear itself. But living in highly uncertainty, intense suspicion and ruthless exposure, Joanne lived out of all those misery and eventually found long-awaiting justice for Pete, whose soul would forever linger on the land of a foreign country.
