Fishing in the Air and Sowing Seeds

To kill two birds with one stone.
Pigs might fly.
The grass is always greener on the other side.
Rome wasn’t built in a day.
All mouth and no trousers.
More haste, less speed.
Once a use forever a custom.
Let the dead bury their dead.
There is no smoke without fire.
To put all one’s eggs in one basket.
To leap out of one’s skin,
To fish in the air.
To look for a needle in a bundle of hay.
A bad beginning makes a bad ending..
A bad thing never dies.
A bad workman always blames his tools.
A bully is always a coward.
A closed mouth catches no flies.
Actions speak louder than words.
Adversity leads to prosperity.
A faithful friend is hard to find.
A fall into a pit, a gain in your wit.
A fox may grow gray, but never good.
A good medicine tastes bitter.
A leopard cannot change its spots.
All good things come to an end.
A miss is as good as a mile.
A new broom sweeps clean.
A man cannot spin and reel at the same time.
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
As a man sows, so he shall reap.
A single flower does not make a spring.
A word spoken is past recalling.
A young idler, an old beggar.
Beauty lies in the love’s eyes.
Better late than never.
Birds of a feather flock together.
Blood is thicker than water.
Cannot see the wood for the trees.
Constant dripping wears away a stone.
Creep before you walk.
Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill.
Don’t try to teach your grandmother suck eggs.
Do well and have well.
Even Homer sometimes nods.
Each bird loves to hear himself sing.
Easier said than done.
Every little helps a mickle.
Every day is not Sunday.
Every dog has his day.
Everyone’s business is nobody’s business.
Every potter praises his own pot.
Experience must be bought.
Fields have eyes, and woods have ears.
Fire and water have no mercy.
Fools grow without watering.
Forbidden fruit is sweet.
God helps those who help themselves.
Great minds think alike.
Habit cures habit.
Harm set, harm get.
Hear all parties.
He knows most who speaks least.
He laughs best who laughs last.
He sets the fox to keep the geese.
He who does not advance loses ground.
If you venture nothing, you will have nothing.
It is easy to be wise after the event.
It is hard to praise all.
It is no use crying over spilt milk.
It never rains but it pours.
It takes three generations to make a gentleman.
Jack of all trades and master of none.
After meat, mustard; after death, doctor.
All is over but the shouting.
As poor as a church mouse.
Entertain an angel unawares.
A fool may give a wise man counsel.
A man cannot serve two masters.
Love is blind.
All things are obedient to money.
All things are difficult before they are easy.
All shall be well, Jack shall have Jill.
A little spark kindles a great fire.
A little leak will sink a great ship.
A life without a purpose is a ship without a rudder.
At one’s wit’s end…
